The DVX-Pod (http://amatechnologies.com/)...sharp looking piece of kit. Obviously not in contention with a firewire recorder, but for display purposes, could be very nice. The specs on the screen are especially enticing.
I'm looking into it as a possible new monitor for my Steadicam--I've been looking to replace my aging onboard recorder (Sony PC-3) with a hard drive unit for a while, but this would kill two birds with one stone if the display is bright enough in sunlight. And at $599...well, that's only 1/20th the price of my present green screen monitor, so...!
