I don't know if I'm the only one but I'm experiencing problems with the REC button (the one on the "grip") from my EX3.... after a few minutes working with the camera, the button begin to "slip" inside the grip starting from its upside part .... I have to "pull it" out to its place again to make sure it will work .... What bothers me most is that I just received the camera from Sony precisely because of this problem and for updating the firmware (solved focus problems)....

The notes on the warranty packing list just said:
"Final solution: The rubber cover for the rec button was out of place."
... yes they put the rubber cover again in place, but USING the button several times makes the problem reveals again....

any suggestions from the experts would be greatly apreciated...

It is really AMAZING why supposed PRO equipment has this kind of problems !!

Send it back to Sony, right away.

If you can't send the camera back to sony immediately due to recording commitments, then activate the button under the lens as your record start/stop function. I activated it when i received my camera and pretty much use it all the time.

Hope you get your main rec start/stop issue fixed quickly.

I have two EX1's and in two years I've never had that problem. Maybe the EX3 is slightly different?

There's also a REC button on the top of the camera (you have to "unlock it" with the ring that surrounds it)

I've never had trouble with the REC button falling into the camera, but I have had problems with the REC button not working when pressed. It seems to come and go. Some days it works great, other days it's intermittent. It seems to be working well lately.

Good luck getting your EX3 repaired! :)
