I'm looking at getting either a Glidecam or Steadicam. At the moment, i'm researching both pros and cons...
But one overlooked detail at my end..
At present, i'm shooting with an XH A1..

I've got monopods, and tripods with the 3063 Bogen head (http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/74/65/714626-elec_lg-resized200.jpg) attached (Hex style).
It's very important for me to be able to quickly jump from stick to stick with a simple two click method...

Question:
Can the Glidecam/Steadicam work with this setup, or would i have to be forced to reeinvest in heads to suit the rectangular styled adapters??

Thanx...

You will be able to move quickly from Glidecam to tripod/monopod.
The only that you have to add to your budget, is a quick release plate.
I have the Glidecam x10 with the 4000HD.

do they even still make a QR setup for the 3063 head? Do they even still make the 3063 head? IT would almost make more sense (while costing more money granted) to switch to something that could use the 577 quick release or the 3237 QR (same thing, longer plates).

Hey Don...Yeah, it's like quicksand...I started off with the Hex plates, heads and quickreleases...And anything else bought was made to suit...

Now with a possible Glidecam purchase, i'm pretty well gonna have to rig something up, or start all over with the rectangular styled adapters and such..
As i suspected...Spend all over again.

BTW, can you verify the number 3237 QR? I can't seem to google image this item...
Thanx..

Sorry, it's the 357 not the 3237. I have no idea where that came from ;-), maybe it has to do with my taxes or something. Anyway sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase.
