I can see in the BTS the DSLRs, just don't know exactly what and where they were used in the AD.

The final AD.

Awesome ad - great find :-)

If they've done it right, you wouldn't be abled to tell which shots were done with the DSLRs and which with the ARRI film cams. But I believe that the cockpit shots from 0:57 and up are done with DSLRs - mainly because that's more practical in those confined spaces.

There are a few shots with extremely shallow dof, but look like wide angle lenses, these could possibly been have shot with a 5D. Of course, you can also create that effect in post, but a few cockpit shots could have been done that way. No problem matching the film into what the DSLRs can manage when shooting video.

Wow, what a magnificent piece of advertising and filmmaking. Thank you for calling it out.

That is a stunning ad. The Canon's might just be being used as directors viewfinders, but I can also see how they would be extremely useful in the cockpit shots, maybe also the on-plane camera which would explain the jello.

One of BA's very best adverts.

As an aviation nut and as someone who's been in the production biz a while, that is now one of my fav ads of all time. Really is a benchmark to aspire to from the concept to the script, shooting to the editing and grading. Fantastic!!!

And here's another Vid from the series...

This is without question the best advertisement I've seen in years, if not my entire life.

Well done British Airways, well done.
