I like many shooters have taken the opportunity to move the 'easier' workflow offered by the likes of the Atomos Samurai which I really enjoy using. There is however one question I would like to ask others users out there that concerns the most efficient work flow to adopt when shooting time-lapse. I use an EX3 and that wraps the individual images up into one file. With the samurai when shooting time-lapse each image is written to the disc as a separate image. The question I am asking is for FCP what workflow would you suggest I adopt when working with time-lapse that generates in the order of 2000+ images per take.

I don't think the Samurai has a time-lapse feature like the Nanoflash. I think it is a feature request you could ask for and see what they say. Good idea.

I assume the Samurai produces X number of .mov files, ie 1 per frame captured.

This is actually quite simple to deal with in FCP, as each file can just be dropped into your timeline. If all the files are sequentially numbered (as they are by default from the Samurai), you can select the lot and drop them into the timeline as one and they will line up in order for further editing. So, whilst the file list in the FCP browser may look daunting, it's not really an issue.

Thanks for that just what I was after. Pop them on the timeline, then just render it out for a movie. Just what I like, nice and simple.

I haven't tried this - so you are doing timelaspe on your f3 for instance and it is recording it okay?
