Many thanks Burkhard James Kuhn May 31st, 2012, 11:16 AM Bud...as far as I know, you can't delete individual files on the Samurai. You have to 'Format' the drive to delete 'all' the files. Regards, J. James Kuhn May 31st, 2012, 01:36 PM Bud...however, with ATOM-OS v. 3.0, you get "SmartLog - the ability to mark in and out points and tag clips using XML metadata...". This is directly from the ATOMOS AtomOS 3.0 NAB '2012 announcement. Essentially, you can choose the 'clips' you want to keep. Regards, J. Burkhard Scheibe June 1st, 2012, 02:30 AM Thank you James! Yes, I meant how I can get rid of certain video files using only the Samurai unit. Obviously this isn't possible. Regards, Burkhard Yes I wish you could just hit a delete button to delete the last shot you recorded. Multiple BAD takes that have to be downloaded later is a waste of time and space. David C. Williams June 4th, 2012, 11:30 PM Honestly, deleting any files on set is possibly one of the worst ideas ever proposed. The potential for mistakes through human error is large. Even malicious deletion is possible. But above that, you NEVER know what you might need or be able to salvage until you are in the edit. I've lost count of the number of scenes I've seen cleaned up with random cutaways and inserts taken from bad takes or just random rolls. Seriously, don't delete anything, ever. James Kuhn June 5th, 2012, 10:58 AM David...yes, the ability to 'delete' the wrong file is an issue. Especially if you have a large production crew with a lot of 'hands-on' type people. There is a Locking feature now on the Samurai which helps to keep well meaning folks from screwing up. Regards, J. |
