Greetings to all...when I first down-loaded the new FW v. 3.0, I immediately noticed the 'touch-screen' was brighter. I didn't know ATOMOS could do that with the FW? They mention in their latest ATOMOS-Samurai brochure, dated April 2012, "The Samurai replaces your current monitor with sharper images, better direct sunlight performance,...".
I guess I can confirm, ATOMOS has made the Samurai's 800x480 screen brighter. I wouldn't go as far and say, the 'touch-screen' can be used in the direct sunlight without a viewfinder shade, but it is better.
