Hi all,
Just wondering what others do to protect their standard EX-3 lens when they take it off? I bought an EX-3 second hand so not sure if there is normally one supplied with the camera new. I can't find any mention of one anywhere, but also can't find one when i do a search on the internet. Does such a cap even exist & if not, what are others using to protect the rear element when they have the lens off the camera?

Thanks in advance,
Bryce

Wow that's awesome thanks Chris,
I've been searching far & wide & have turned up nothing so far.
I will give Sony a call today & try to get one ordered.

Bryce

Wow! Chris, your supplier must have a different mark up on their parts than mine. I was just quoted $146 from a supplier here in British Columbia!!
Hmm, maybe time to try to find a plastic cap that will do the job!

That was the price on Sony's website. You may want to try and order it directly from them.

See if this link gets you there.

Hi Chris,
Thanks very much for the info. I may have to call Sony serviceplus as when i try to sign up for the service plus service, it won't allow me to put in a Canadian address.
Will let you know how i get on.

Regards,
Bryce

Ok, so after not a lot of success chasing down a reasonably priced back cap for the stock lens, i finally thought enough was enough & thought, hey, there must be something around here that will fit. After all, all i want to do is protect the rear element from scratches, it doesn't necessarily have to seal out dust.
This is what i came up with, actually it was the first thing i tried & it fits pretty much perfectly. My wife thinks i have an obsession, but hey what can i say, i grew up on the stuff. This one's for you Alastair!
Thanks all for the help, especially you Chris!

Bryce
