I have a question.
I am looking to upgrade a step or two in my video card for Adobe CS6.
Currently I have a GTX 460 1 GB GDDRS. It works fine, after fine tuning, with mercury playback engine. It’s fast but I would like something faster. My editing software is Adobe CS6.
I don’t want to spend a lot of money. What would be the logical best bang for the buck to get and not break the bank. I have searched this forum and the internet, Videoguys.com etc, and have some ideas. Can anyone expand on this.
Many thanks in advance.

A GTX760 card should work with CS6.

Harry,

Just be aware that a fast video card is not the holy grail. While the GTX 760 is a great card and works well with PR, the rest of your system must be up to the task to keep it working at a good speed.

See Tweakers Page - Exporting Style (http://ppbm7.com/index.php/tweakers-page/88-exporting-style) , Balanced Systems (http://ppbm7.com/index.php/tweakers-page/83-balanced-systems/94-balanced-systems) and Tweakers Page - What video card to use (http://ppbm7.com/index.php/tweakers-page/92-what-video-card-to-use) to see if you use this card optimally.

Harm;
Is there a specific GTX 760 4Gig card that you would recommend? I'm seeing several out there with different numbers.

These are the cards I would consider and that are available over here with Dutch prices.

They are all 4 GB models but with a higher clock speed than the regular 760's, hence my choice for one of these. I personally am rather fond of the EVGA brand, but that does not imply the other brands are bad. In my opinion you should choose the highest clock speed first and then look at price/warranty ratio and finally at fan noise (although that is difficult to find out).

Can the EVGA cards be unlocked to work with the CUDA acceleration in PremierePro CS6?
Forgive me but I am very much a novice in this technology.
Thanks again.

Yes, all of these cards can be used in PR with hardware MPE acceleration, including the EVGA's.

With a different interpretation of 'unlocked' you touch upon overclock ability of these cards. EVGA has a great utility, EVGA Precision X, to 'unlock' or overclock the video card.
