FYI...version 1.0.5.0 opens up CP options, including CLOG-3.

Appears that the XA50 and XA55 also get CLog3 along with EOS Standard and Production Camera color matrices, with Firmware 1.0.1.0

https://www.canon.co.uk/press-centre/press-releases/2020/12/firmware-update-for-selected-canon-camcorders/

The HF-G50 and HF-G60 also gain some of the new 'Custom Picture' feature settings for fine tuning sharpness, saturation, skin detail, and noise reduction. And all six models receive improved auto-focus accuracy on zoom.

No updates for the GX10 though, which I guess signals that Canon are phasing it out.

Edit: Actually, checking the updated online manual (for firmware 1.0.1.0) it appears that the HF-G60 does also get CLog3 and the EOS and Production Camera color matrices.

I nearly sprang for a GX10 in the summer when B&H were offering refurbished units for quite a bit less then the HF-G60. Glad I didn't now.

No onboard waveform/parade monitor on any of these models though, as far as I can tell from the updated manuals.

Edit:
....the new 'Custom Picture' feature settings for fine tuning sharpness, saturation, skin detail, and noise reduction.

Also, contrary to that press release, I don't see any 'Skin Detail' (softening filter) settings in the CP options. The available options are:

Gamma Curve/Color Space
Color Matrix
Black (Pedestal, R,G,B)
Black Gamma
Low Key Saturation
Knee
Sharpness
Noise Reduction
Color Matrix Tuning
White Balance
'Over 100%" - option to pass-through, clip or compress 'super-white' data.

Anyone have any luck getting 100% zebras to work? I'm not sure how I'm suppose to shoot with CLog3 if I can't see what's clipping...

Just as an FYI, in case anyone else has this problem, I discovered that you have to turn the View Assist feature on, when in CLog3, for the 100% zebras to work properly.

That's interesting - the User Manual states that View Assist displays an image on screen that 'approximates to the one that would be obtained using BT.709 Wide DR gamma settings' (see attachment).

In the absence of a WFM, and for run-&-gun, I guess that's the best you can hope for.

Presumably Canon assume that people would use an external WFM for setting exposure when shooting CLog3 under controlled lighting conditions.

How is everyone exposing for this new c-log 3? I am struggling? Just a noisy mess?

From the CP profile comparisons I've seen on YouTube I don't see CLog3 bringing so much to the table. A lot of noise. XA50 likewise. Probably better off shooting Wide DR and tweaking the sharpness and NR in the CP settings.
