Not a huge earth-shattering piece of news, but I just wanted to mention that I picked up the Chrosziel 450 mattebox/rods kit today, and pass along that it's a really nice piece of work, and worth the money.

Compared to the Cinetech 3 or 4 stage I had rented with the Mini35 the other week, the Chrosziel is 100% more solid, and it's obvious that Chrosziel took the time to make sure that their solution would work perfectly without weird gotchas. The camera adapter plate for instance attaches to the same 4 screws the JVC tripod plate adapter uses...not the 1/4-20 hole. The 4 holes for the JVC plate and 1/4-20 AND a 3/8ths hole are replicated on the bottom side of the adapter plate. It's really well thought out.

Pricey, but I expect the mattebox/rods combo will be used on the next at least 2 cameras I own beyond the HD100.

I have Chrosziel CF-SS/ST, which is a unit with one rotating and one solid filter frames. No rods, just an adapter ring but works well and it is solid. Also probably a little bit cheaper than Nate's configuration. Yeah, Chrosziel is the way to go, you have my vote Nate!

Er, I meant Chrosziel gets MY vote. I didn't mean we should HAVE a vote. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Er...

Voting, that is.

I like the JVC GY-HD100! :-)

[p.s.I mean, if you're voting for me, than I'd say "Thanks!".]
