On pic 2 did you have the blacks set to stretch or was there enough natural light to light the shadowy forest in the BG? These pics are good examples of how great the XL2 does with a long lens, these images are just not possible with a DVX or other 1/3" CCD cams without expensive adapters.

Used the 16x manual lens

I'm not 100% sure but I think the blacks were set to middle or normal. I did take some decent notes while shooting this so I'll go back and make sure when I get home. I know I spent time on the master pedistal and setup level but I don't remember exactly the final settings. I have some shots of the same dog (KitKat) diggin in the woods. I'll try and pull those tonight.

Yes the forest behind my house is VERY thick and there is very little natural light. Combine that with a cloudy day and there wasn't much light back there at all.

BTW: Thanks for all you do for the Xl2. Your posts have been a great help to me while learning this camera.
