I had a great time at Birns & Sawyer today. Thanks for the invite. All of you were awesome. The XLH1 24F HDV material looked amazing on the projection screen. Again, had a great time at the new loaction.....

Was it shot with the stock lens?

And how big was the screen?

I keep hearing great things about this camera, I am still interested in seeing how the image will hold up to large screen projection or film blow up.

Any thoughts?

Pretty sure it was the stock lens. Michael said it was about a 14-15 ft screen, and it held up beautifully.

Film? I think it will fare at least as well as the HVX on blow up, (better, likely) because it has the raw resolution needed, especially if the material was recorded in a full-frame codec via SDI, like Cineform or Kona.

The only reason anyone would need to go to film nowadays (with their HD project) would be for theatrical distribution. Film festivals are getting hip to HD projection, and that's a GOOD THING!
