Frank Ward February 14th, 2007, 02:54 PM How much for just the XL2 kit?
Thanks!
Mike Teutsch February 14th, 2007, 03:30 PM Hi all,
Planning on getting a HV20 as soon as they come out to use with my XLH1.
No longer need my JVC CU-VH1USP HD MiniDV deck. This is the JVC deck that plays the tapes recorded by the JVC GY-HD100U, and the JVC JY-HD10U. It also converts 720p to 1080i and 480i. Records 720p also. And, it plays all MiniDV standard DV tapes. So you can use it for any cameras DV tapes.
This is a US NTSC model and comes complete with the original box and all of the accessories, remote and all.
It in absolutely new condition, except that it has one green pixel on the display. Well, even that is like new, because it arrived that way and it was not worth the hastle of shipping it back and forth to be fixed. It is just one pixel and It's just for viewing anyway.
This is the link to the JVC description page:
http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/features.jsp?feature_id=01&tree=&itempath=null&model_id=MDL101457
Ask any questions you have. Save wear and tear on your nice camera, use this deck.
Asking $1,150 shipped anywhere in the 48 states. They still sell for between $1,700 and $1,900, but they are getting harder to find. Mine was bought from B&H, but they just discontinued carrying them this month. Cheapest I found on the net was right at $1,700.00.
Thanks for your time.

Jason Robinson February 14th, 2007, 03:32 PM Anyone, interested in buying a XL1...anyone?
You tempt me. Especially since my camera is moving to Japan with out me (I rented from a camera guy and he is moving there leaving me camera-less). My problem is I cannot afford any HD cameras so I'll have to stick with SD but I'm not sure if I should just go GL2 if I get an SD camera (or Sony since they are supposed to have better low light).
But I'm not sure I could operate a manual cam well enough. Email on its way in a few minutes with more questions.

Vishal Gurung February 15th, 2007, 01:40 PM Hello
Just recently acquired the quite magnificent sony Fx1 - and am currently looking for a couple things
1) Soft carry case (doesn't have to be fancy, just something easy to carry with good padding and enough compartments)
2) Tripod - I would love to have a good set of sticks for it - again nothing too crazy but something with a fluid head and a strong pair of legs
That's pretty much it for now - there definitely is a budget as i wouldn't want to be spending much more than $50-$70 for the case and $150-$170 for the sticks but if you could let me know what you have, i would definitely appreciate it. Thanks again!
Vish
Chris Barcellos February 15th, 2007, 02:11 PM Consider this cheap case hard case as an altenative, adding your own padding. I use this for my FX1, and it fits fine, and I use padding to keep it from bouncing off sides.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=36871
Then take the money saved and try to move up in tripods.
I you are stuck in cheap tripod land, I have used the Velbron Videomate 607 for the FX1, and using it carefully, can get acceptable results. The head is "fluid", at least in feel, if not actually.

Aaron Pinto February 15th, 2007, 03:30 PM I have a Sony HVR-A1U for sale that has a bad iLink connection. I sent it to Sony and they want $1400 to repair it (too much for me to afford). The camera still works fine aside from the iLink issue. This would make a great second or third unit for someone who needs another HDV cam.
This is my only HDV camera so I have no way to pull the tapes off once recorded since I am unable to use the iLink anymore. I don't have the market demand here to justify the repair costs.
I have some accessories for this camera too that I will include with it or sell separately. Current retail prices listed.
I have:
(1) Sony .7x wide angle lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=396837&is=REG&addedTroughType=search) [VCL-HG0737Y] *$129.95*
(1) Cavision lens hood for Sony WA lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=434539&is=REG&addedTroughType=search) [LH-77] *$39.95*
(1) Canon .7x wide angle lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=437532&is=REG&addedTroughType=search) [WD-H37] *$149.95*
(2) Extended Sony batteries (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=275104&is=REG&addedTroughType=search) [NP-QM71D] *$69.95*
(1) Sony Mini charger (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=1&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=product.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&shs=BC-TRM&image.x=8&image.y=6) [BC-TRM] *$36.99*
(1) Tiffen Soft F/X 3 37mm lens filter (http://www.adorama.com/TF37SFX3.html?searchinfo=tiffen%20soft%2037mm&item_no=2) [37SFX3] *$40.20*
and of course the complete HVR-A1U with all original accessories and packaging.
Camera with original accessories I will sell for $1,300. I will sell everything together including the additional accessories for $1,700.
Please PM me with offers. This could be an extremely good deal for someone with multiple HDV cams or an alternate method for pulling HDV off the tapes without the on camera iLink.
Bryon Akerman February 15th, 2007, 04:08 PM you still have the hvx available? I am looking for one. do you have Barry's book and any p2 cards available?
Jason Burkhimer February 15th, 2007, 04:16 PM Bryon, I just emailed you.
Vishal Gurung February 15th, 2007, 04:29 PM Consider this cheap case hard case as an altenative, adding your own padding. I use this for my FX1, and it fits fine, and I use padding to keep it from bouncing off sides.

Thanks Chris for your insight.. you're right about the sticks.. i guess i'm just feverishly hoping someone out there would have something in my price range - as for the case, i've had hard cases before and while they have their place (and i'll probably end up getting one later) i think i'd want to go with a soft case for now as it's much easier to lug around - course that's just my opinion
Mike Teutsch February 15th, 2007, 05:23 PM Having won DV#7, I received the great G2 wireless system from Guy Cochran at the DVeStore. I also bought the matching wireless mike sender/shotgun sender for this unit. Thanks very much Guy!
No longer needed and up for sale is my other unit, an Azden VHS unit with the wireless receiver and the shotgun mike sender.
Azden WX/T-Pro Sender and Azden WR-PRO receiver. I have put links to the current prices below. These units work great, but I have too much stuff now. Someone else can get some use out of it.
New around $220.00, you can have them for $120.00 shipped in the 48 states.

Patrick Moreau February 15th, 2007, 05:30 PM Anybody out there even thinking about selling one in the next couple months?
Patrick Moreau February 15th, 2007, 05:32 PM If you have one or know of somebody selling one, please let me know. I may also consider the Varizoom prolite or a similar Steadicam product.

Patrick Moreau February 15th, 2007, 05:51 PM I'm looking at selling my Magiqcam IIA setup and getting into a slightly higher priced unit as I really enjoy this rigs and they have worked well for us.
Magiqcam, which I believe is now out of business, sold their units as pretty complete kits which include:
-vest
-dual spring arm (holds up to 15 lbs)
-sled
-adapter for balancing the unit on a c-stand
-plate for mounting a battery and one for mounting a monitor
I can also include a Glidecam L4-pro 4" monitor which is a really good monitor for use with the Magiqcam. Has plenty of picture controls and is nice and small. Comes with the standard battery that lasts a couple hours. I also have a generic lithium ion battery (not included) which can power the monitor for several hours. I can add this one in for extra or point yu in the right direction to grab one.
This unit is functionally perfect. It has had some minor problems in the past that have all been completely fixed or had small parts replaced. Everything is working as it should right now. Everything will shop in a custom hard case made for the Magiqcam.
I would like $1500US with everything for the Magiqcam and the glidecam monitor, or $1300US without the monitor (it is very usable without an external screen, just more fun that way and very helpful for 35mm adapters).
Check out video samples on our website at www.still-motion.ca that were all shot with the Magiqcam.

Jad Meouchy February 15th, 2007, 06:08 PM I'm pretty interested. Does the receiver plug in to XLR or would I need to get an adapter for that? Antennas included? Also, how is everything powered?
Mike Teutsch February 15th, 2007, 06:10 PM I'm pretty interested. Does the receiver plug in to XLR or would I need to get an adapter for that? Antennas included?
Just like the pictures show. Out of the receiver is a mini jack, transmitter is female XLR. Antenna is on the receiver, transmitter antenna is internal.

Phil Hover February 15th, 2007, 06:47 PM Item is Sold!
Henry Cho February 15th, 2007, 06:49 PM hello...
i've upgraded to the dvrig pro, and i'm selling the following shoulder support:
http://www.downwiththefuture.com/images/dvinfo/shoulder_brace.jpg
i'm not sure of the manufacturer, make or model, but it is similar to the image2000 shoulder support seen here:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=421436&is=REG&addedTroughType=search
there are some signs of wear, but, as you can see, the unit is in very good condition.
price to sell at $60 paypal'd and shipped anywhere in CONUSA.
Ken Grohs February 15th, 2007, 07:31 PM Model number? 2A, 3P, something else?
Ken Grohs February 15th, 2007, 07:44 PM I'm looking, too, Patrick.
If you fall onto more than 1 let me know!
-Ken
Patrick Moreau February 15th, 2007, 07:48 PM Thats a good question, since there website is no longer up, how do I find out?
I think this is one of the earlier models but the higher end one with the dual articulated arm with a spring in each and a higher weight capacity. I thought this could be further upgraded to hold more weight, which us why I think it is right in the middle.
If you can give me any info on how to determine which one it is, that would be great.
Patrick
Henry Cho February 15th, 2007, 08:14 PM shoulder support has been sold. thanks.
Ken Grohs February 15th, 2007, 09:18 PM I just did a Google on Magiqcam.
Several sites came up with their product info. Not all of them are on one site.
Might take some surfing to get the particular info on all applicable models.
Patrick Moreau February 15th, 2007, 09:23 PM I'm 95% sure this is the 2a or 11a depending on how you want to spell it. It looks exactly the same and the specs line up. I'll do some more research tomorrow.
Patrick
Patrick Moreau February 15th, 2007, 09:26 PM Just confirmed with some older documents, this is the IIA setup.
Jad Meouchy February 15th, 2007, 10:03 PM What about power? What kind of batteries does everything take?
Mike Teutsch February 15th, 2007, 10:49 PM What about power? What kind of batteries does everything take?
The receiver takes one 9v battery and the sender takes one AA battery.
Thanks---Mike
Charles Papert February 15th, 2007, 11:06 PM I have a buyer for the lens...I will sell the wide angle adaptor for $200 OBO. Remember that this is a Century Precision, best glass available and brand new something like $700, I think. Make sure to read the two caveats listed in the first post before contacting me. Thanks!
Don Bazley February 16th, 2007, 01:15 AM Patrick,
If you still have it I want it. I sent you an e-mail on this earlier today. Let me know if ya still have it.

Patrick Moreau February 16th, 2007, 07:58 AM Hi Don,
I never got your email but I did catch your post so I sent you an email back.

John Inman February 16th, 2007, 09:45 AM I may be willing to sell my A1. It is essentially new. I bought my A1 from B&H and it had a problem with manual focus so they replaced it with a new one. I have had it since Feb 7. I haven't even taken the manual out of its' wrapper.
It is really more camera than I need. I am retired and not using it for income.
I will entertain offers.
