Apparentlly Adobe PPro 2.0 admitedly has registry issues concerning CD/DVD burner recognition problems after the new Production Suite software is loaded onto your hard drive. After loading Adobe Production Suite, including PPro 2.0 (the newest Adobe upgrades), Windows XP no longer recognizes your CD/DVD drives. HOWEVER. here are my concerns. Before I go monkeying around with my registry through regedit and remove and re-install the Production Suite at over 30 minutes a pop:

1) Does this registry edit work? Have others tried it with successful results?
2) Does it work with Window XP 64 bit edition?
3) Should I wait until Adobe has a downloadable fix?

I'm hoping Ed Smith, Steven Gotz or any other experienced user can shed some light on this. Thank you for your time and assistance.

I actually got Windows XP 64 to finally recognize my DVD burner no problem. However, I still can't get Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 to recognize my DVD burner. I still get the "no DVD Burner Detected" message when I try to export to DVD from the timeline. Anybody have any other suggestions for me? I am in a crunch right now.

Here's an update:

I spoke at length with Adobe techs via phone and here might be the issue:

1) Forget that Premiere Pro 2.0 doesn't work with the 64 bit OS. It was engineered to work optimally with 64 bit.

2) My regedit, specifically the IDE folder in regedit, does not show my DVD drive even though Windows shows it everywhere else. According to the tech, if the DVD drive does not show up under the IDE folder in regedit then PPro 2.0 won't find it either.

Here's the million dollar question:

How do I get the regedit IDE folder to show my DVD drive?

give me patch to your IDE folder i will try to find a solution (have same problem)

Well, I switched back to the Windows XP Professional 32 bit operating system and now my INTERNAL DVD burner is recognized. However, now After Effects i shaving a problem with my Open GL 3d file!

I've been having burner not recognized issues as well. I went out, bought a new burner, believing the software would fix the problem. No dice. Read this thread and others similar, and would like to use the Adobe-advised process of editing my registry files. However, I have a slight problem. Under my 4D36E965... registry key there is no UpperFilters and LowerFilters lines. After some poking around, I've found folders under SYSTEM labeled ControlSet002, ControlSet003, and ControlSet004. In the ControlSet003, under its 4D36E965... key, I found the Upper and LowerFilters lines. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
