When i shoot something in Frame Movie Mode on my XL1s and then i go to edit in FCP, do i need to set it to capture 30 fps instead of the default 29.97 or does it not matter?

thanks for all the help i get here!

Now I am not an expert in frame mode caputre, but as I understand there is no differance in capturing regular footage and frame mode footage. All frame mode does is capture a full field instead of half a field, thus increasing the resolution by 150% and essentially the frame rate by half. The only differance between frame mode and progressive scan is that progressive scan requires a progressive scan CCD and will caputure more resolution. If you want more info, many many threads have been started on this topic about both the GL2 and XL1s. Use the wonderful search feature in the upper right to recall some old threads and increase your knowledge!

Scott's 100% correct. 29.97 is the standard NTSC video frame rate regardless of Frame or Normal mode shooting. Leave it right there.

To simulate 24p wouldn't you do a 3:2 pull down? I never heard of using the motion blur technique.

Where are the controls for a pull down in FCP5? Or N Filters?
