Is it true about the LUX? (with the HD1U/10U). Then this will make those 1/6" CCD cams a gift from Heaven! This can't be right. The high LUX must just be with the proto-type models, and not what's going to hit North American streets.

Hmm... I'm not so sure, Frank... I think these specs are probably right.

This info might be useful for analysis.

The JVC GR-DV2000U (1/4", 1.33MP Progressive Scan CCD) was a flagship 1-CCD released in 2000/2001. Min lux requirement is 18 (eighteen). Has anyone here used it? How's the low-light performance?

Allan, I have 2 models back from the DV2000. The DVL9500. It has a 1/3" CCD with 360K video effective CCD pixels, 380K total. The DV2000 has a 1/4" CCD with only 340K video effective CCD pixels. Anyway, I'm just shocked that this NEW JVC requires SO much LUX.

Thanks for the correction about pixel count of the 2000U. I forgot that before the HD1, I'd never heard of a megapixel progressive scan CCD cam.
