For some reason I seem to recall reading there is an issue with trying to output native 24p/30p footage via firewire from the HVX200. Is this true? Does this make it difficult to transfer to a PC or Mac from the camera?

If the footage was shot on a P2 card as pN you can transfer that via firewire.
You cannot record pN through firewire live.

Glad to hear you can transfer it. Why, then, have Mac users been bemoaning the lack of a P2 editing solution if you can just transfer the footage right out of the camera to the computer?

?
You mean with the new laptop Intel Macs?
Yes they did take away the PCIMA slot but
you can transfer from camera....
It is more of a hassle than popping a
P2 card in and it does tie up the camera....
You could always get a PC that has a PCIMA slot....
Transfer to a FAT32 formatted external and you
can load the files onto your MAC for editing.
