In order to get 24p from 60i invercine telecine must be applied. But what is the workflow for PAL Version 25p. Is each frame double recorded? So we need only select each second frame?
Could someone clarify this?
Thanks in advance.

i looked this one up today because most topics cover NTSC making it some confusing for us Pal's..
no need for reverse telecine pulldown, the camera is actually recording progressive then splitting the same frame into interlaced fields giving a 50i workflow in post.
we have less to worry about i guess..

So this means, I just need a simple deinterlacer?

You don't need to deinterlace footage shot in 25P mode. It will look perfect on ANY equipment with no interlacing artifacts at all. When editing, you can even leave the standard PAL settings (interlaced) as they are. Only when you plan to add transitions, you'd better work in a project with "No fields", as interlaced transitions may look a bit odd on progressive footage.
That's all! ;)

Enea I never thought that transitions would render interlaced like that if you're working in 50i? But I guess I hardly every use any myself. Although I have Vegas set to edit 25P as default anyway.
So in that case edit in 25P mode, but you can just as easily render completed files as either 50i or 25P and it won't make a difference.
