Samurai Firmware 4.1 released
Atomos has released firmware version 4.1.
There are a few main improvements. The main is matching file names for Red One, Epic and Scarlet cameras. It also includes Avid DNxHD proxy support (45/40/35 Mbps). This new firmware version also includes support for playback of DNxHD files created in third-party applications, for example Media Composer. Version 4.1 for Samurai can be downloaded here - The Samurai - Firmware Thank you Atomos for the Matching file names feature. Its just what I was hoping for, which makes the Samurai a great addition to my Epic camera kit.

Re: Samurai Firmware 4.1 released
I haven't updated mine yet, but from what I understand the Samurai adds T001 T002 etc to each Epic clip and you have to batch rename them. Seems odd, I will try it with my Epic later today. I'm very happy with my Samurai and have used it together with my Epic for quick turnaround jobs in broadcast quite a bit. Very hand to use it as a real time prores encoder for slowmo footage. Just hook it up to the Epic and press play on the Epic, and voila, you get prores in real time
