Shogun Flame - 7 frame audio latency
Hi. This has been an issue I've had for ages, but I got so used to the workaround that I forgot to investigate the root cause!
Basically, when I record from my GH5 to the Flame, via HDMI, the resulting file shows a 7 frame discrepancy when I import it into the NLE. It's exactly 7 frames every time. It's easily fixed by nudging the video 7 frames forward, but I'm curious to know what the root cause is - and whether there is anything I can do to fix it. I realise that in the audio menu on the Flame, you can comnpensate for audio delay by incrementing a number of frames, but that seems to just be for monitoring purposes, and doesn't appear to be carried over to the recorded file (or have I got that wrong?) My only thought about the cause is that it's a latency caused by HDMI and there's nothing I can do about it other than sync in post. I couldn't find anything about this when I googled the subject, though. Any thoughts anyone? Cheers. |
