AVCHD Export Premiere Pro issue

Hi,

For a new guy in this world, everything seems rather confusing. If these were asked before I apologise in advance.

I shoot with the SR12, import files with Sony software. I edit in Premier Pro CS4. My PC is Quad core and seems to perform okay.

I am struggling with the exports. I’ve tried many of the formats and a couple work and some goes wrong, specifically the H.264 and the H.264-Blu Ray. The video coming out on the other side plays back horribly. It seems highly interlaced and sometimes comes out mostly grey, or then hangs when playing it back in Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic. I think the WMV was fine.

Which settings should I check?
If I only cut a clip and do not add any transitions or effects, can I export that in the original Mt2s format?
Will the CoreAVC codec help for this? I don’t think it’s a performance issue but won’t know.
What is the best way to render it out into 24p? I read about pulldown and have found some articles explaining how to do this, but none of then used AVCHD, or the full 1920x1080i and so I can’t get it right.

I guess you might need more information and I plan to write down exactly what I am doing and what comes out in the next few days.

Regards
Japie
