how to get footage to transfer??????

I shot some footage today on my gh2, I can view it on my mac but I get an error everytime i try to transfer the footage to my hard drive ? Any help please?????

Does the structure on the camera look like this?

DCIM
MISC
PRIVATE

If so, did you copy the entire structure to your hard disk before you start to work on it with an NLE?
