I am running Avid 4.1.6 but I can not work out how to record the sequence to the tape on the camera (camera is an xl2) trying to get it to dvd is a nother story. Do I need to set something in the camera, FW cable is connected but I can not anything in the viewfinder. Help John |

JOhn,
Make sure the camera is in VTR mode, the NLE is in Blue Dot mode, hit 'record' on the camera, and 'Play" on the timeline. And check your post on the avid forum. |

In NLEs I have been working with its pretty easy. As long as the camcorder are recognised by the NLE when you connect it via firewire, put the camera (XL-2) in vtr-mode. Then in the NLE it should be a function to export the timeline to tape. I'm not shure about Avid 4.1.6 but other NLEs I have been working with have this option.
