I guess I'm a bit like Chris on this one. Heard about how wonderful the series is, but for content revolving around illegal drug manufacture etc my heart simply isn't in it. Just not motivated at all and have never watched it.

I’m impressed with the production values, all of them contributing to its continued success.

Eg: they don’t use large interior lighting set ups. In the first instance it was probably to save costs, but using available light plus a key or two along with expert camera work and colour grading, gives the show a sepia ‘desert’ look and feel.

And they introduced their fast dissolving day-night-day transitions together with custom sfx. It all combines and works to great effect.

And they’ve copied these values over to Better Call Saul.

Cheers.

Game of Thrones is kind of two shows...the political intrigue stuff and the more fantasy stuff.

Yeah, and the kindof dorky science teacher who gets involved with the trade, and schools them all in it. It's layered, like some of the good shows are. Again tho, it's tough binging series that are finished. Just looking at 60-100 1 hour episodes (40 mins without commercials) is a challenge.

You gotta pace yourself, child. One or two eps a day.

Another story from the BB vaults.

In the story when Walt’s cancer chemo treatment started to cause his hair loss, he shaved all his hair off under the shower. When he emerged in the dining room, the family became very emotional.

The guys in the crew decided to support him, over the weekend they all shaved their heads. On Monday, when Cranston arrived on the set, at a signal they all doffed their caps and beanies. This too became very emotional, hugs all around.

If you ever get the chance to work with a crew like that, drop everything and just do it.

I did, it’s a once in a lifetime thing.

Cheers.

Another of the BB stories: the location manager found out that after desert day shoots they could rent a nearby church on weekdays to leave the gear in overnight. This saves driving it all back to base in Albuquerque, then back out to the location early next morning.

This worked well for a few weeks, made good money for the church, then the clergy found out the story was about cooking meth. ... and all the churches became off limits.

Cheers.

That's cool but the only color theory I need is ultra dark and desaturated blue green, like in Ozarks, the poor man's Breaking Bad.

OH NO HE DIDN'T!

Yes he did.
