What's next, Scott?
|
David won the last round, but I think he's probably too busy with work or family at the moment to offer up the next quote. So I'll do it... and I'll make it an easy one, just to get the ball rolling again. In this case, name the actor as well as the movie in order to claim the round.
Dwight: "I know a thing or two about a thing or two." |
That would be "This Boy's Life".
|
Great first post, Joel. The round is now yours!
|
Raymond Hurdicure: So I hear dad's dead. Hey, is that egg nog?
Its a great movie BTW... Good Luck. |
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
|
That is correct! You're up....
|
"No Hay Banda, there is no band"
|
Hey Cole--this thing's been sitting here far too long. Maybe choose a new quote for us?
|
Hmm...apparently, Cole isn't checking in, so I'm going to post a new quote and we'll see if we can get this thing moving. If you've seen this movie it's an easy one.
"It's a matter of professional integrity! No girl wants to marry a doctor who can't tell if a man's dead or not!" |
Sherlock Holmes!
|
Yep! It's all yours, David!
|
This is probably a hard(ish) one. But I made sure to pick something that had a built-in hint. :) Good luck!
"Discretion? Why should we hide, XXXXXXX? We are the powerful. We are the immortal. We should walk fearless in the open." |
Quote:
|
Based on the quote, it sounds obvious to me as a vampire movie, but I fear it may be one of the more recent such films, none of which I have seen, so I'm just going to take a stab in the dark on this one and guess one that is still just a little bit older. I'll guess "Blade: Trinity".
|
Nope. Actually, I think it's older than "Blade: Trinity". I'm not sure but I think it was released in 2001
|
I have no idea, I just thought I'd chime in and say that Cole's unanswered quote was from one of my favourite moments of David Lynch's Mulholland Dr.
|
Well, since I'm feeling generous today, I'll give two hints:
1. The name of the character who's name I replaced with "XXXXXX" is "Marius" 2. The movie is based on a novel by the same name, the author of which is one of the most popular writers of modern gothic fiction, though of late (after her re-conversion to Christianity) she has been writing only Christian fiction. |
Okay, well I'm sorry it came to having to give hints that practically gave it away - but I'd not likely have guessed it otherwise. I completely forgot about that movie.
It is "Queen of the Damned". Part of "The Vampire Chronicles", authored by Anne Rice. -Jon |
That is correct lol
|
Quote:
Carry on, Jon! |
Okay, here's the next one:
"You can't let bad things happen to good people, right? That's your code, right?... That's the hero's code?" The next few sentences are almost a giveaway, so I'll hold off of them for now and see if that's enough to guess with. -Jon |
Damn....I know this one...I just can't place it! Sooo frustrating! I can almost hear the voice of the character speaking it!
|
I'm just gonna take a random guess even though I know I'm probably wrong...
Hancock? |
It is not "Hancock". Sorry.
-Jon |
Hint: The above quoted line is spoken by a boy, speaking to the main character of the film.
-Jon |
Next hint: The boy speaking the line is the son of the main character.
-Jon |
Y'all are killin' me here. Okay, here's an extension of the quoted lines.
character 1: "You can't let bad things happen to good people, right? That's your code, right?... That's the hero's code? I tried to make them stop, but they kept pushing me down and they wouldn't let me get back up. I... I thought maybe 'cause you were my dad.... I thought I might be like you. I'm not like you." character 2: "You are like me. We can both get hurt. I'm just an ordinary man." character 1: "No you're not. Why do you keep SAYING that?" If no one guesses it after this one, I'm about to get a whole lot more obvious with the clues. -Jon |
Dead give away clue. If no one guesses after this one, then the next clue will be the actual name of the movie:
The movie quoted from above stars Bruce Willis, in a very subdued, moody role. -Jon |
Unbreakable, just noticed this was running again.
|
"Unbreakable" it is.
You're up, Andy. -Jon |
from one of my favourates...
"Okay, my friend. It's off to the next life for you. I guarantee you, you won't be lonely" Andy. |
I just watched this the other day.
It's Creasy (Denzel Washington) in Man on Fire. I love the look of this movie. -Garrett |
Yup a great revenge movie, you're up
Andy. |
Probably a real easy one but here's one of my favorite lines:
"Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country." -Garrett |
i recognise the line, for some reason clint eastwood is comeing to mind.....was it heart break ridge by any chance?
Andy. |
Nope Andy, right genre but not a Clint line.
-Garrett |
Garrett, stop messing with my mind! I was about to say we'd had several quotes from this movie, perhaps even this particular quote, then I looked back and...it is the same and...it was you who posted it and me who answered! Care to try for something else? :)
|
...or...if someone else wants to answer and post a new quote, have at it!
|
Oh jeez,
Sorry Lorinda. You choose. Do you want me to post another one or do you want to take it? -Garrett That's the problem with getting older....LOL |
