BMCC Thunderbolt

Can the TB (thunderbolt) be used to record to a laptop with a large HDD to record Raw instead of using an SSD onboard? If not, can the TB port be used to record ProRes while the internal SSD records Raw?

Re: BMCC Thunderbolt

The TB port can be used to record an external 10 bit 4:2:2 stream from the camera using BMD's own software. In this way you can continuously record to ProRes for example for as long as you have hard drive capacity. You can't record RAW.

You can record RAW internally or ProRes or DNxHD internally at the same time.

You have to use it with a laptop or computer. You can't directly connect to a hard drive.

You can also use the TB port with Ultrascope, the included scopes software,
