New cheap Blu-Ray Drive

Sorry not strictly Vegas but it WILL be of interest to a LOT of us. Now......if only they would get their fingers out and get DVDA with Blu-Ray Authoring then we will all be happy.

Interesting, but not really that cheap when you consider the cost of a suitable graphics card plus a computer to put it all in. I'd say that the best deal in a Blu-ray disc player remains the Playstation 3.

Yeah, a DVD and CD recorder - NOT a BD recorder

I think I'm with you Alastair. Maybe not with you to seven exclamation marks, but this looks like a great deal. I love the idea of being able to give my brides a Blu-Ray with their standard DVD today, so I won't have to worry about it in the future.

Read the text carefully:

"as well as playback and read single- and dual-layer Blu-ray discs (5x for BD-ROM and BD-R/-RE, 2x for BD-R DL/-RE DL), it also can playback and record CDs. It is unclear whether the new drive is meant "

Playback and read BluRay - not a word about recording.

The article was changed. It originally said that the drive could record single-layer Blu-Ray.

The text of that article was changed from the original post. The first post definitely said it would burn Blu-ray. The edited post makes it clear that the drive is a BD-ROM with a DVD/CD burner.

Ahhhhhh...it all becomes clear now. Someone made a typo mistake and it isn't in fact what we thought. In that case....IT SUKS!

Oh my god...can it get any cheaper? Even cheapskates can be can afford it now. This is going to be a great solution for archiving my video. I'm glad BR is winning the war, and for so cheap.
