Canon lenses

I would love to hear from anyone using the Canon Cinema lenses and their opinion of them as they seem to rolling out now.

Re: Canon lenses

The 14.5 to 60mm and the 30-300mm have been out for a few months. Amazing lenses....and my good friend, who is one of the best lens techs in the country, told me he liked the 30-300 better than the Angeneux 25-290....and it was less money. The 24mm 1.5 has been shipping and we're still waiting for ours but I look forward to playing with a production version (played with the prototypes).

Re: Canon lenses

Yes, I should have clarified I meant the primes were just rolling out. I can afford and justify those and would consider renting the zooms, having seen footage from the zooms already at the premiere of the camera. So, those with footage using the primes, don't be shy.

Re: Canon lenses

I had a chance to use the 24mm Cinema Prime when it first came out a while back, and was very impressed. Once the set is rounded out with more focal lengths, I think they'll be very popular. The problem right now is that there's a massive, gaping hole in the set at 35mm, and I'd have an awfully hard time encouraging anyone to invest in a set of lenses without that length available.
