Just learned that we can start shipping the C100 kits with the 24-105mm lens this Wed.

Terry, so the kit unit (with the 24-105 lens) would be the newer C100 with the ND dust issue fixed, right (Canon stated there was a problem keeping the ND area of the camera dust free)?

Here is the statement from Canon:

"As part of the on-going feedback process with customers, Canon has implemented a revised design in the filter and sensor units of the Cinema EOS System’s EOS C100 and EOS C500 digital cameras that further improves dust prevention performance.

The new design further minimises any possible ingress of dust within the sensor and filter array and, after additional development, the same upgrade can now be performed on all existing purchased EOS C300 cameras and it will be implemented in all future EOS C300 and C300 PL models.

The update can only be done at a Canon Regional Competence Centre (RCC) service facility and, as the upgrade involves a significant amount of time, you must contact and book the update directly with the service facility".

This above statement was sent late March 2013. I'm almost ready to purchase, just want to make sure I'm getting one of the newer units.

Re: Canon C100 $1000 Instant Rebates & 0% Lease Promos at Texas Media Systems

Slightly unrelated question: I just purchased the C100 along with about $3,000 in extras from B&H. This was February 27th. If I waited 5 more weeks I could have saved myself $1,000! I called B&H to see if they could do anything to compensate me for the price reduction. They said it's out of the 30 day policy (by one week).
Is there any hope in trying to talk with Canon directly? Or will I have to live with it :(

Michael,
if you paid with a credit card, call the credit card company and see if they offer price protection.

Doesn't look like my Visa has that perk. It's actually my debt card, so it came straight out of my checking account. I knew I should have waited for NAB, but I had a paying gig that I wanted to use the C100 to shoot. Not really worth $1,000 though :(

Re: Canon C100 $1000 Instant Rebates & 0% Lease Promos at Texas Media Systems

Michael, sorry to hear that. I won't mention any names, but spoke to a California authorized Canon retailer about any possible discounts upcoming. He tried to convince me of no discounts at NAB. I told him I expected some type of discounts during NAB. Good thing I didn't listen to him. I saved $1,600 on the C100 Body and Lens Kit!!!! Also saved an additional $660 in California taxes by buying out of state. You think I bought the kit from him? NOPE!!! I bought it from Texas Media Systems!!!!! Ordered the C100 Kit on Thursday April 11th, it was in my hands on Friday April 12th!
