from tramm's post it sounded like step one was acquiring a firmware dump.
And he thought there might be one out there, but wasn't sure.
Once that was acquired he'd need a camera.

So here are my thoughts and questions:
1) I'm sure time is a limitation. Aren't there others working on this project as well? Couldn't we hire programmers to work on it?
2) Would hiring someone speed up the aquisition of the firmware that tramm needs?
3) is it possible that some version of ML could get rid of the stuff that stays on the screen when you are exporting uncompressed video through the HDMI (when you aren't recording to the SD card)?

For me that last thing would be the most valuable hack. If I could record full HD uncompressed 10bit straight to a computer with a blackmagic card, I would be one happy camper (this would also allow you to use an HD monitor while acquiring footage.

It seems like if we had an amount of money ready to go, the right kind of programmers would step forward to bid on the job. (but maybe that's just demonstrating how little I know about firmware modifications).

I'll gladly ChipIn for Magic Lantern on the T2i as well. Others haven't said, but I'd be willing to ChipIn up to $50---especially (as others have said) if Tramm (or whoever) says they're working on it.

I'm in for the chip.

...plus 1. $50 towards the camera once we get a dump to play with.

For any T2i shooters who have joined in the last month or so, add your name here if you would be up for helping pay for some firmware magic!

Shooting HD all the time, the SD movie crop is kinda limited, so why not tweak it a little? .

Great idea, and potentially you could do this right in the center of the sensor, that way there would be no aliasing/moire issues, etc.

But even if things kinds of things can't be done with magic firmware, I'd still pay 20$ for it just for the stuff it does do.

+1 again.... gotta get rid of that AGC

during Canon's T2i launch party the boast "external mic input for professional microphones" only to cripple it for professionals with the AGC
