Flash Band Compensation

Does anyone know if Canon is looking into this firmware upgrade that Panasonic added to the HPX300? If you are not aware of it here is a link. HPX300 You would think that if this is possible on that CMOS cam that any manufacturer can replicate it and begin to fix the rolling shutter flash banding issues... Just got a 60D and I would like to use it for the occasional news story that I may film. Most scenes have many flashing lights that would introduce the flash banding. I do have a CCD cam that I will use until I dont have to worry about these dreaded rolling shutter issues.
