Canon 5D Mark II - can you edit the footage?

Just found out about the Mark II's movie mode. Seems very exciting. I understand there would be challenges to using as a primary movie camera, but seems those challenges might be worth the risks given the images versus cost of the camera.

All that said, will any of the editing systems be able to chop the footage out of the box?

Some specs from Cannon's website:

"The Mark II will record a movie clip for a maximum of 12 minutes at 1920 x 1080 and up to 24 minutes at VGA. Movies are recorded in Quicktime MOV format using H.264 codec for video and PCM for audio. At 1920 x 1080 the bitrate is 38.6 Mbits/sec (about 4.8 MBytes/sec) and at 640 x 480 the bitrate is 17.3 Mbits/sec (about 2.2 MBytes/sec)."

Yes. It's H.264. I haven't heard of any problems with people editing sample footage. Many non-macs will show choppy video at 1080p, but that's not a 5DII file problem. Most (all?) newer macs have a video card that helps display H.264. My year-old Macbook Pro handles the files easily. Compared to new desktops it's a mid-range system at best.
