I have done 2 comparisons of 5d Mark ll footage vs. EX1 footage over the past 2 weeks. This was not side by side but shooting the identical subject in pretty much the same environment from exactly the same spot.
I will post next week but I'm giving the "image quality" of the 5D the nod over the EX1. I'll go into the technicalities when I post the clips. Having said that, I don't see the 5D as a replacement of the EX1(3) or HVX or any video camera. It's not a video camera. It's a high end DSLR that happens to shoot a very solid quality 1080p. Although I did let my EX1 go in order to get the 5D, but hey, I'd rather love and lost than to never own an EX1 in the first place. I'll be doing a shoot at Longwood Gardens in PA. next week as well. |
