Official new name: Magic Lantern
The new firmware project has an official name now:Magic Lantern firmware. It turns your 5D Mark 2 into a "5D Mark Free".
Based on advice I received, and a desire to avoid Canon's trademarks, the project name doesn't use "5D Mark X". Additionally, this way if we do end up writing support for other Canon DSLR cameras we don't have to rename it. Sometime soon we'll have a website with downloads and source code for the adventurous. |

"Magic Lantern" AKA "5D Mark Free" is good enough.
