GL1 Time/Date Question
 

Hi all, haven't bought my GL2 yet, and I don't have any expirence with either the GL1 or GL2, but I borrowed a GL1 from a friend (who is now out of town for 2 weeks). Is it normal to have to enter date and time information every time I turn the camera on and off? Is there a little battery some where that may be bad? Looked in the manual about this and didn't anything.

Is this normal? Please let me know, not really a big deal, just kind of anoying.

On the GL2, there is a lithium 'backup battery' located under the LCD screen. This preserves the date and time. I'm guessing that this is similar on the GL1. So look for this small flat battery and replace :-)

No, It's not "normal". You just need to replace the watch sized battery under the flip out screen. :)

Ok looked at the PDF manual for the GL2, and underneath the LCD screen is a battery backup, on the GL2, on the GL1 in this spot is audio controls for the onboard speaker, and LCD brightness. There is no Battery Backup listed that I can find in the GL1 manual. Any one with a GL1 out there have anything to say.

You can download the GL1 manual from here. I don't recall where the back-up battery is on the GL1 but it does have one and it sounds like it needs replacement.

Been scanning the manual, and I must be missing something, because I don't seem to see it anywhere.

In the GL2 maual, on the page where there is a digram of the camera, and it points out what each thing is, it lists the Lithiumion back up battery, but I don't even see that on the GL1 manual.

No wonder I couldn't find it there wasn't any pictures on that page.

For those without a manual. it is internal, not user replaceable, and requires about 24 hours of connection to a power source to charge.
