using the camera for tv playback

Hey guys,
I'm having trouble using my camera as a way to playback my material in final cut pro to a monitor via firewire. I had it working earlier, but I don't know what's going on because it's not working now (I think that I changed some setting on the camera on accident). Please help me, what settings on the camera might be screwed up. The computer recogizes that their is a firewire device hooked up to it. But the camera just won't playback the firewire input.

Hi Josh,

check: PLAY(VCR) ---> Menu ---> VCR SET UP ---> AV->DV Out: OFF.

If this is set to "ON", FCP will not work with your cam.

Chris,
I've already made of that. Any other suggestions? Is there a specific order in which you have to hook everything up so that I don't have this problem?

Josh,

the best might be to reset your cam to factory defaults. Take a look at the manual a s I don't know how to perform this exactly. But it's pretty easy.

Have you tried checking the settings in FCP? Make sure that 'View -> External Video' isn't set to 'Off'. Also take a look at the AV Devices tab under Audio/Video settings.
