Too much cyan

Hello All,
Just got a GL2 and began playing when i noticed all red and green (grass) colors looked too bright, almost annoying. I tried to switch modes (Tv, Av manuel) and play with the exposure but no luck. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Go into your setup menus - check to see if possibly the brightness, contrast or hue settings have been changed from the factory presets. I think the GL-2 is a bit warm anyway, but it sounds like yours is off. If it is a new camera and the presets are in the neutral position, then something is wrong.

Another thought, Randy, I hope I'm not insulting you by suggesting you check white balance. If it is in the Outdoor (sun) position and you bring it indoors, it wil look very red. If it is set for indoors, and you bring it outside - it will look blue.

The GL2 is known to push red a little bit (and hence is referred to as "warm"), but it's more subtle than what gave rise to your complaint. It is most noticeable in flesh tones. I find that my second cam, a Pany GS200 gives more accurate flesh tones. I correct the GL2's footage in Vegas by reducing saturation a bit and shifting ever so slightly from red toward blue-green.

Other than that, no colors coming out of the GL2 annoy me. The greens are fine on mine.
