Title Mix function DOES WORK!!!

I finally figured out how to get the title mix function to add a title, logo, bug, letterbox black bars, etc..

HERE IS HOW....

open a new photoshop image (or whatever you use) make sure its 640 x 480 px.

this camera uses a Luminance Key to overlay images.... so....

create whatever image you want, if you want to use BLACK in your image, make sure you use these RGB settings.. R=12 G=12 B=12.

now when you have the image that you want, add a new layer (background) make sure that it is BLACK (R=0 G=0 B=0).

This is the most important part. Save the image as Jpeg. But save it to the TITLES folder on the SD/MMC Card, and save it as this filename USR00001.jpeg. then USR00002 and so on.

after you save it to the card, switch the cam to tape/camera. From the menu, select Title Mix/Select title.

There you go!!

Amazing!

Thanks Tustin. Yes this does work, with one very minor correction, the file extension needs to be .JPG

You've saved the day, and found a solution to what I considered to be a major Canon faux pas.

Chris, I think this is worthy of Watchdog Report or Resource status.
And on Tustin's 1st post...

(So how do we clue in Canon Tech Support that this IS possible?)

Hello,
Thank you for the comments. I didn't believe that it couldn't be done, So, I was bored a few nights ago and sat down and worked it out. I will be writing an article about the title mix function.(complete with detailed images) And..... Chris has agreed to publish it on the Son of Watchdog GL2 page. I will work on it tonight, so it will available soon.

Thanx,
