IR Remote Control - need advice!

I am about buying HV20, but my concern is that it has no LANC input.

The remote control unit, which comes with the camera, could do the job.
But is it still operable if positioned behind the camera?
The operator's manual doesn't say it will.

If you used IR remote with HV20, share your experience, please!

The sensor for the remote is in the front, sorry. People have built make-shift LANK's using the remote control and optical fiber cable. Look for the posts or threads in the HV20 forum.

It works very well for me. The only down size is you can't have variable zoom speed using the remote control.
