Canon HG 21 30p action footage

I am looking into getting the hg21 to shoot in surf housing. Has any one had any experience shooting high speed action with this camera? Also any issues importing into FCP 6.0.4? I will be mixing with EX1 footage.

Thanks for any info

Edit AVCHD in FCP without transcoding to APPLE PRO RES or other format is impossible right now, but if you transcode its piece of cake...
