HV30 action sports at DVinfo.net

Im thinking about buying the HV30 and have heard about ghosting and motion bluring. Im going to use the HV30 to shoot snowboarding, and skatingboarding videos and motion bluring would not be a good thing to have. Can i put it on a mode that lets me not have motion bluring when fliming skate and snowboarding vids. thxs

I have an HV30 and all I've seen with my footage and all I've read this is not a problem. The only systemic issue you may have with the HV30 and any equivalent CMOS camera is the "rolling shutter effect". Google that term and you'll learn volumes. However, I don't think this will be an issue for you.

Motion blur is a function of shutter speed and a natural part of the perception of motion and speed. You can increase the shutter speed to reduce motion blur but it will effect the viewers' perception of the footage. In the end, different shutter speeds yield different looks. You might want to experiment a bit and see what you like.

I don't think the HV30 will cause you any problems.

Mine works perfectly fine and I have seen some great slow mo shots with it too. If you have bad motion from this camera, either you did something wrong or you are in low light. This camera will work great for fast motion as long as your shutter speeds normal.
