Hi Matt, and thanks :) Yeah, at least Canon get a decent plug in there.

No, there was no zooming, the bus just kept stopping. It was peak hour late afternoon here and there were less lanes open for travelling into the city which is why the traffic became a bit congested.

I might try this again sometime with the focus issue sorted. Also need to find a way of speeding up the footage in Vegas more than 400%. I'm sure there's a script that can do this, I just need to track it down.

Oh, one thing I keep forgetting to mention. Look out for the truck in front of us towards the start of the clip being flashed by the red light camera. It only lasts 2 frames. You can easiliy see the lights were already red before he went through. I'm not sure the exact fine, but it would have cost him at least $100.

Nice video! Did you do color correction to generate the final WMV or have special in camera tricks to reduce the low light grain? I tried something similar with TV-6 setting without adjusting the exposure.

Hi Mike, all I did was adjust the overall levels using the histogram as a guide. Mostly just to bring the blacks. At the 1/6 shutter speed there wasn't much low light grain, so that helped improve the image quality a bit.

Glenn, funny thing with my attempt there was some visible grain in the sky where it was pitch black sky. Crushed them out with color curves and the effect of compression seemed to help too. Its not as interesting as sydney but here's my night drive through the suburbs to a city.

Hi Mike, can't believe it's taken me 5 months to check back on this thread! Need to visit here more often. Great looking clip. Looks like you've got some nice freeways there to make the overall trip run a lot smoother.

Now I'm inspired to do another one. The fireworks footage my wife shot from the car as I drove accross the bridge the other night didn't come out as well as I hoped it would. Bit too shakey.. Should have just set up the tripod.
