Canon XF100 in stock!
Hey guys,
I just wanted to share with you that BH has the XF100 in stock. I ordered mine this morning :) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/733533-REG/Canon_4888B001_XF100_HD_Professional_Camcorder.html It probably won't last long so for those of you waiting, I would jump on it! |

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
Picking mine up in a few hours. Sold the XF-300. The XF-300 is an outstanding camera BUT it turned out too large for me and I always grabbed my less obtrusive and smaller cameras for my projects.
Yes.....I will miss the XF-300 and it's fine picture. NO......I will not miss the size.

I don't think you'll miss the fine picture... it's incredibly difficult
to discern any difference in the image between the 300 and 100 series cameras. |

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
Chris...you made my day.
I want to check out the wide angle lens as well. It appears my current Canon 58mm HD wide angle lens will not match the camera.

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
I'm selling my Canon XL H1 for this tiny beast, it'll be a pleasure to downsize and get a little boost in quality from the MXF format... Ahh I'm so excited!

Lou -- if you have the Canon WD-H58W model then yes it should work perfectly.
It's listed as one of the XF100 series accessories... Jon -- that's quite a change in size, to go from the XL H1 to an XF100! You won't "stick out" as much. |

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
Ordered through B&H website this morning. Called them and they said the order should ship today. Order status is listed as "In stock, order sent to warehouse".
Really looking forward to engaging with this camera. I ordered two Transcend 400X 32GB UDMA cards separately from Amazon (about $80 each...pretty good price). Hopeful that these will be a good match. UPDATE 10:15 AM PDT 10 May: It's currently listed as "TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK" again.

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
I am just starting to get the hang of it.
But I must say, I am impressed with the manual controls and the quality of the video. I've just used it for some YouTube reviews so far but the picture quality is quite good. The XLR inputs sound quite good as well. Craig |

cancel the TRANSEND 400X 32 CARDS. they DO NOT WORK WITH THE CANON XF100 after 10mins of video u will get BUFFER OVERFLOW and the recording will stop and the camera will try to recover the data! the only cards that works 100% are the recomended cards by canon! |

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
Yikes. Which ones do they recommend? I downloaded the user manual, and I couldn't find anything that recommends a particular model of card.

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
Steve, refer to the chart at the bottom of this page:
Canon U.S.A. : Consumer & Home Office : XF100 : Specifications The only Transcend cards they recommend are the 600x ones, specifically the TS32GCF600 and TS16GCF600, and even then you won't get slow-mo frame rates. Ideally you'll want the SanDisk Extreme or ExtremePro. Check also with Hoodman USA and their RAW brand Compact Flash cards. |

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
The website already says they're temporarily out of stock. That was quick.

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
It's definitely going to be a huge, pleasant difference! Especially since I'm trying to do more video for fun rather then work.
I knew the stock wouldn't last! |

Re: Canon XF100 in stock!
I would stick with SanDisk Extreme. The Hoodman cards are not only far more expensive ($455 for a 32GB card vs. $160) but more importantly are not on Canon's list of approved cards.
