Same here, do you just lose the date or what when the battery goes? How much was the replacement?

No, not just the DATE/TIME, which is needed to be reset, but ALSO your personal settings. During this period I have been loading my previously Saved-To SD Card Personal Settings and imported them - each and every time I switch the main battery. PITA!

Costings? Well, I decided, as I do with all things was to get an Official quote from Canon. I did this by calling Canon Elstree first; made an appointment and took my camera in. At which point I was informed that I could wait till the engineer could ascertain the issue, confirm if a battery, if that was needed to be used, was in stock. I got an opportunity on the form to state an upper limit that I wished to spend. Canon would use that to inform me if it could be more.

Thanks Grazie, sounds like a PITA as you say but not a "ball breaker" - just wish they had said something when I dropped my XF300 off.

I had the same procedure regarding costs and my LCD problem was £161 including courier back to me.
So what was the cost to exchange a battery?
