External monitor question - SD to HD

So I'm still waiting for my XH A1s to be delivered and I have a question.

When I shoot with my SD Canon Xl 2 I connect the yellow composite video cable to my 9 inch LCD portable dvd player for a monitor (Works Great for under $175!).

So now that I'll be using the HD XH A1s, what will happen when I connect it to the player? I know it wont be HD of course but will it at least display the image correctly?

If you know or have a guess, please let me know.

Thanks much

I connect mine to an SD flat screen monitor often. It will display with an accurate representation of framing. I wouldn't try to exposure or color settings with it and you won't see zebras on it either. Also, the A1 has two composite video terminals. One is BNC. The other is one of those A/V 3.5mm jacks that requires a cable with audio and video RCA hacks. I like the BNC because all I want is video. If want to use that with a standard single RCA cable, you will need a BNC to RCA adapter like this:

Make sure the output signal is set to 480i, not the 1080/480i option...
It's pretty straight forward....
