Canon XHA1 problem - purple line through footage
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their Canon XHA1. I've included a photo so you know what I'm talking about. There's a purple line going through all my footage. The camera has been great until it just showed up one day. The photo is of the camera plugged into a tv - as you can see it's still there. That rules out anything to do with the tape heads. I hope it's not a ccd problem :(

Yike, don't know what that is but it looks like it is expensive to fix.

You could try a reset before sending it in for repair.
Cheers.

Definitely a Canon fix if the reset doesn't work....
it's not a mark on the wall is it? |

I wish it was a mark on the wall, camera has been reset a couple of times. Line is still there. Looks like it's going back to Canon. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Nothing as bad as the full line. But I do have a blue dot, bigger than a pixel, that shows up after about 3 mins of filming. I have to send my cam in as well.

I've had a similar thing back in my Betacam days whenever my camera was ready for head replacement. Hopefully you're still under warranty.

Tony, you also have a large carved pumpkin in your image, but I suppose Canon will quickly catch and fix that artifact. ;)
