manual focus while zooming.... at DVinfo.net

canon xh-a1

can someone please explain to me why i cannot adjust my focus manually while zooming slowly through a shoot? the second i stop zooming i can adjust the focus, but not during. whats up with that?

This issue has been covered at length here and I did not have to much difficulty in finding the answer using your heading as "search this forum" keywords.

http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh...bombshell.html goes in to it in a lot of detail but basically the answer is that the XH-A1 and XH-G1 have one servo that does both functions. Your "manual" focus is not directly operating the lens remember, just triggering the servo.
