Is the 25f function a true 25p output? And presumably it can be edited in a 50i stream in any editing program, right? Or am I wrong?

Piotr, you mean 6.0d, right?
Anyway, you can easily build your own 25p template just by copying the existing 24p template and changing the frame rate.
