Just got my Baby

Just bought my Canon XH A1 today. I also pick up the wide angle WD-H72 lens. I was hoping that it could also fit on my XL2, but was surprise to discover that it does not fit even when they are both 72mm. Any way I will be around here more often with questions as I can see that the learning curve is pretty big.

It should fit the XL2 if you remove the lens shade......why wouldn't it fit?

Nope....it won't. The threads are too deep on the XL-2. Cent. Opts. will work.

Congrats

Great news Mike. Now if mine would only arrive.

I should get it by Wed.

Please let me know how you like your wide angle adaptor. I haven't yet jumped to grab one, but I am contemplating it.

Wd-h72

The threads are too deep on the Wide Angle, not on the XL2. I'm hoping that someone can come up with ring and adapter or something like that so I can used it with the the XL2. Also if you used a filter on the A1, it must be removed to installed the wide angle on the camera.

Congrats, Mike. I got mine Wednesday evening right before Thanksgiving. Haven't had much opportunity to do any real shooting, just tests around the house, and I'm very impressed so far. I also like the nice, solid feel of the camera.

Hello Mike:

I have the same problem, the WD-H72 doesn't fit the XL2. Have you resolved the problem with a ring adaptor or something?

Thanks
Manule

Ringadapter

Hi Manuel:
No I have not, Instead I have been using my A1 most of the time and the XL2 is sitting on the shelf with hardly any used. Good luck to you.
